Playin' around--color or B&W?

These are such cool succulents--they are part of the same family as Hens 'n Chicks. I love the way they look like industrious spiders have gift wrapped them.
So... color.....
...or B&W?
PS. Rick walked about 20 yards today!! And, he has a smaller trach in, so tomorrow he can start talking. We are making PROGRESS! :-D

Autumn colors, encore

I LOVE the way these leaves are outlined in yellow!! What a neat artist Mother Nature is.
This looked like flames dripping off the branches...couldn't pass it up.

Autumn colors

Fall hasn't started painting the big trees yet, but the vine maples are blazing. They are smaller and there are swaths of flame at the base of the taller trees and evergreens. They are the appetizers to autumn, and have the most brilliant colors.
This ivy is thinking about changing, but is in no hurry to do so.

October means Orange

About the only time of year I can handle orange is in the fall. I love the autumn tones, and orange just sings on the gray days.

This is at Whole Foods, right across from the hospital. What an INCREDIBLE store! I had no idea!!! Their hot foods buffet is incredible...

Backyard pests

Some pestiferous visitors to my yard. These were taken just before Rick went into the hospital, and I had a little time at home today to try to unwind, so I've been editing...

I love this little fawn. Can't believe you can still see his spots in August. He must've been a late one.
This little guy comes every night. I don't mind it when he hunkers down in the grass and nibbles on that, but leave what little I have left in my garden alone!
The focus on this lady fell short, but I was quickly shooting through the living room window--well, that's my excuse, at least.

Osteospermum

Yes, I'm home. R has been alert the last couple of days, so I have been hospital-ing. He was taken off the ventilator yesterday, but had to be reintubated today due to severe breathing problems. Tracheotomy tomorrow...poor guy. I just don't know how much more his poor body can handle. It just seems to be one thing after another.

These are in pots on my deck. I love the structure of these. Such an odd name for such a pretty flower...I love this variety particularly. I've never seen this particular color before, and really like the vivid combination.

Architecture in green

As you may have noticed already, I love ferns, and living in the Pacific NW, I am blessed with an abundance of them almost everywhere I turn. I love the the design of them, and how the different stages are so unique.

And, R is making small incremental steps of progress...hopefully will be off the ventilator in the next couple of days. Once he's off, I'm back to the hospital 24/7, so I am enjoying my time Peaing!
