What is it?? 2.0

Yesterday's mystery was...yes...the inside of a table umbrella! Yea for all you discerning eyes out there.

Here is today's mystery....

What is it??

Nana goggles again, but I just couldn't resist this shot of Miss C., carefully inspecting a miniscule piece of something mysterious between her piggies... It just fit the theme. Oh, to be even HALF that flexible again!!
And here's my What Is It for today.

Why I went to Iowa....

CAUTION!!! Nana goggles...

I really really admire all of you who do this professionally, or excel at it as a hobby. Taking people pictures is NOT my forte, or even my inclination, so I donned the Nana Goggles and decided I was happy with these...

Miss E., who NEVER smiles at the camera or will even look at it; everything with her has to be candid with a telephoto...
Miss C., who loves the camera, and is always on the go...
And Miss G., 9 weeks old. We finally caught her awake for more that 15 minutes...

Ahhh...Quick! While it lasts!!!

FINALLY! Yesterday and today we had BLUE sky, few to no clouds, NO rain, and best yet--it was 75 today!!! Of course, to wipe the gloat off my lips---tomorrow and all next week it will be raining and in the 40s...grey, cold, dreary, bleh.
But, yesterday an excursion yielded these. What a glorious day, and today...perfection. I will store these 2 days in the memory bank for the next many many weeks until nice weather decides to stay, and not just blow through.

Those are the Olympic Mts. on the other side of the lake, looking like low-hanging clouds.
Don't you just want to hop in and go??? Seattle is across the water--
Even pampas grass looks wonderful against that BLUE sky. (Excuse me, but blue sky is REALLY exciting around here this time of year. Seven+ months of grey sky gets real old)
Don't these look inviting?

Who would've guessed???

...that there would be something this cool in Des Moines, Iowa??
While I was visiting DD, we drove through downtown one evening. My sweet SIL was nice enough to comply when I hollered--"STOP! I need a picture of that!!" This incredible sculpture is next to the public library, and is soooo interesting. I want to get back sometime when the light is right and get the letter shadows.

A little bit of Spring

Even though the weather's been crazy (snow, rain, sun, sometimes in the same day), Spring is trying to get here. Love this shot of the blooming trees with the snow-capped peak in the background. We don't have snow in our valley, but it's all around us.
Even puddles can be pretty this time of year.

After the "drought"....

Back from helping DD unpack, settle in, organize, paint, clean, put away from her move, and to help with the kidlets. I actually had time to take some photos of said kidlets, but will post those when the theme is Children... Being without my macro lens for a WHOLE WEEK was murder! The plants at Home Depot this morning had received a heavy dose of dew and light sprinkles, and were just begging to have their photos taken. LOL!

Man, I thought this was SOOOO cool--the drop was right on top of the opening in the poppy bud, magnifying the petals underneath. It looked so surreal--like a marble stuck in there.
Daffodil on my deck, with the railings and bloom behind in the drops.
